Personal information and submitted content

When you post a new gamedev tip, your gamedev tip and your Twitter username will be publicly available (both are required), as well as anything else (optional fields) that you write in the "Add gamedev tip" page.

After you edit a gamedev tip, the number of times you edited it and the last time you edited will be publicly available.

All your likes, dislikes and reports will be only visible to you. What others will see is how many times a gamedev tip has been liked, disliked and/or reported, but not who did what.

How is the collected data used?

The data collected by Google Analytics is used only for the purpose of better understand the users' behaviours and to study possible improvements of current and future versions of the website.

We use Twitter's "Sign in with Twitter" feature to know if you are the author of some gamedev tip (so you can edit it if you want to) and to check if you liked, disliked, or reported other gamedev tips. We also use your Twitter username and avatar to make the site a little bit personal when you are logged in. And that's it! i.e, we don't post in your timeline.

For our newsletter/mailing list, we use the services provided by MailChimp. When we need to reach our subscribers via our newsletter, MailChimp will send an e-mail to the mailing list without exposing your e-mail address to other subscribers.

Is the data shared with third-parties?

We hate when companies and people share our info without permission. Hence, we do not share any data with anyone (except the company that actually collects and shares the data with us).

I do not want to share data with you. How can I opt out of tracking, revoke access to my Twitter account and/or unsubscribe from mailing list?

Google developed the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which you can find here.

You can revoke access to your Twitter account as explained in this link.

You can unsubscribe from mailing list in this link.

Did you say cookies?

Yes, we use cookies for two things: to save your "order by" preference when you are not logged in and to know if we already displayed an announcement to you (when we need to make one, e.g. to notify that something in our privacy policy has changed).

Changes to this privacy policy
